Mia is such a gentle affectionate girl, she must be an excellent PAT dog. Their criteria are very strict , lots of dogs are rejected so it is an achievement to pass. Ben is totally unsuitable as he is very demanding when he wants more fuss and 'claws' you. Ouch.

Mia continues to do her Pets as Therapy visits every couple of weeks or so. Today lots of ladies and gents at the day centre were delighted when she popped in to see them all. She went round the room and gave everyone a kiss in return for a treat. Bless Mia - putting a smile on the faces of all those dear elderly residents :-) Very proud of Mia x x

Mia has a new PAT "gig". She did her first visit this afternoon to a day hospice in St Albans. Mia's role is to mingle with patients and staff. There is also entertainment. Today there was an 8 piece ukulele band playing some right catchy numbers. The nurses were worried that it might be too noisy for Mia - not a bit of it! She made a grand entrance then quickly laid down on a grey and pink spotted bed right in front of the band. Most of the time she snoozed and yawned her way through their set. But occasionally when there was a particularly loud note or bit of singing she lifted her head, pricked up her ears and chattered her teeth along to the music All the staff and patients thought she was the business and have booked her to visit twice a month. Well done Mia, we're very proud of our girl

Mia's PAT visiting is going from strength to strength. She is a very popular visitor; last time we went to the Hospice I was a bad Mum and forgot to bring Mia's bed in from the car so I asked someone to hold onto her whilst I went back to get it. By the time I returned Mia was nowhere to be seen. The nurse had taken her straight in to meet all her human friends and Mia was in the thick of things giving kisses and hugs in return for treats. I was the spare part but still very proud!
