Last evening several of our supporters gave a presentation to a ladies club in Bovingdon on the topic...... "40 mph Couch Potatoes" We took along our new Castledon display stand, along with 7 humans and the stars (and best visual aids) of the evening..........in alphabetical order........ Ben, Duke, Lacey, Lilly, Tink, Trinity and Vidia. Each lovely hound was impeccably behaved of course! ;D We talked for about 40 minutes on the history of the Greyhound, greyhounds in racing and what happens after racing, focussing on how greyhounds make the most wonderful pets and promoting rehoming, in particular the Castledon way. Then we had a Q & A session and the "audience" had a chance to meet and fuss the hounds on a one to one basis. A greyt time was had by all. We received many wonderful comments from the ladies present, but the one that kept coming up time and time again was........ "I had no idea they are so docile and gentle" ;D ;D ;D A resounding success all round, and we intend to continue offering this talk to other groups, in return for a donation to Castledon. Not only does it promote the breed as pets, but it explains the rehoming process and also brings in some much needed funds as well. Thank you so much to the hounds and humans that came along - you are all stars! If you know anyone who would be interested in having this talk, please let me know. (I think someone may have had a camera there as well....... )

Lovely pics - they capture the evening well. Thanks to everyone for coming along. I hope you all enjoyed it. We certainly did and the Ladybirds said we were their best speakers ever! OK it was the dogs they liked more than us - lol!!

Thanks for the photos Sheena, they do pick up the atmosphere well (Ladies bored of hearing Andy going on and on and on ), and show off the Castledon display stand rather well don't you think?

I can only echo what everyone else has said about the resounding success of Monday evenings Greyhound talk. Andy, the speech you gave was excellent, it was well balanced and interesting, with a good bit of witticism thrown in. Rose, I loved Tink's story, you put it across it in a lovely way. The display board worked well too and made a good focal point, attracting attention to Castledon Greyhounds. But I guess the real stars of the show were our Greyhounds ..... it's as if they knew it was really important that they do as the packet says!

Well done to all of you , let's hope there will be more "awareness" evenings like this and there's nothing more a greyhound loves than all that attention !!
