We are hoping to take some of our kennel dogs along to this show for the day, but we need some handler's for the dog's.
If you are able look after/walk around one of our dogs at the show, please let me know.
We will get the dogs there, and bring them home.

Looking forward to seeing everyone (human and canine!)tomorrow - although it looks as if it'll be wet in the morning, the weather forecast is now saying that it'll be easing up around lunchtime I'm lucky enough to be having the pleasure of the lovely Jack's company for the day - check out his 'profile': www.castledongreyhoundrescue.co.uk/page29/page29.htmlRose - i've printed off some more 50:fifty club forms for you and will bring them with me tomorrow. If there's anyone else out there in greyhoundland that would like a form or like to know more about the club, ask at the Castledon stall and someone will point you in my direction. See you all tomorrow! xx

The Greyhound Walks Show has been cancelled due to a water logged showground and the weather conditions. Please spread the word to anyone who was planning to go.

What a shame for everyone involved. Was so looking forward to this. Hope they will be able to re-arrange.
The weather here is truly awful and I was wondering how they could judge a ring full of wet, bedraggled dogs! So different from last year when it was exceptionally hot.

A tough decision to make but the right one. Commiserations to all those involved in the organisation, it must be so disappointing for you all But on a more positive note we're looking forward to learning the revised date; just hope it's not on a day we're already booked.

So sorry the show was cancelled. after all the hard work that had gone into organising it. We did go to the Discovery Centre and it was absolutely waterlogged, blowing a gale and very dangerous underfoot. We had a short walk with some other people who had arrived with their hounds and then came home. The dogs were not amused by the weather Had been looking forward to meeting everyone and their hounds. A rotton day was rounded off by a lurcher in the car park flying at Sophie as we walked past it. Thought it had caught her face but it was alright, it did give her a fright though. The only comment the owner made was that the dog was upset as the show was cancelled !!!!!

Such a shame the show had to be cancelled, a tough call to make for those involved. So much hard work goes into these things. I think they will try to rearrange it.

An update from Dave Peacock, the show director .... I have a meeting on Friday to put the process in place to secure Gt Notley Country Park for the date we have in mind. Once that date is agreed, I'll gain approvals from the relevant authorities - which should cause no issues as we're just going to replicate what we had planned for 29th April.
Once that's done:
If you were a pitch- holder for the 29th April show:
Whether you be charity or trade, you'll be given the option to take the same pitch that was previously allocated to you. There would be no further payment or paperwork necessary - just a simple "Yes / No" email. Those who have requested a refund will no longer deemed pitch holders, and therefore wont be automatically offered a free pitch at the new show - most especially the exceptionally rude woman !!
Any pitches left over will be made available using our normal process: offered to kennels first, dog related trade second, other trade third - at our normal rates.
If you've prebooked classes for the 29th April show:
These will still be valid for the rescheduled show. So place keep your tickets safe. We wont be offering any further prebooking for the rescheduled show, but you can of course book on the day - as has always been the case. If you've lost, eaten or doodled on your old ticket(s), contact me and I'll send replacement(s). In your contact, please include your name and dog(s) names
I hope to give a more detailed update either this weekend, or by mid next week.
