Andrea ,this is such good news,  all he really wanted was to be given a chance to know what home life is all about and enjoy those comforts 24/7 ;)and with people who had experienced greyhounds,what better people to do that than you and Dale,you took that chance and now you are reaping the rewards. He looks amazing in the photo's. Thank you for sharing these with us. You are both doing a wonderful job. Hear, hear Andy. I felt so bad separating Mia from Polo, despite all Jodie's reassurances so cannot tell you how delighted we all are to learn that Polo is enjoying his new life and new found confidence.
Well done Andrea, Dale and Elsa.
By the way, Mia too has a loud voice and likes to use it so it must run in the family

Andrea, Dale & Elsa have done so well with Pola bear - he's really doing us all proud & making great progress, bless his heart And it's lovely that i get to see him on a regular basis, too! I'm SO grateful to Andrea & Dale for giving this extremely special boy, the home & life he has waited so long for. They are fantastic with Polo, and I know they already love him to bits  |

POLO'S PROGRESS UPDATE!Polo reached another milestone today - he did something that we really never thought that he'd be able to do......
We paid a visit to our local 'doggy pub', Ye Olde Smack in Old Leigh Town and we thought that we'd just see how he'd react to going in there.
We cautiously went in the side door, fully expecting him to dig his paws in and refuse to pass over the threshold.
However, Elsa lead the way to our usual table (!) and Polo just trotted along behind!
We sat down and Polo soon laid down beside Elsa! He was wary of the noises going on around the pub but nothing really fazed him and he stayed laying down for the duration of our stay!
We just had one drink as we decided that was enough time for his first visit.
We went back out of the side door, but unfortunately there were a couple of men that we had to walk past to get out - would this be a step too far for Polo?
We needn't have worried - he just trotted out, totally ignoring them!
Polo really is taking things in his stride and we are SO very proud of him
To see him gaining in confidence day by day is truly amazing!

Just a small thing, but today Polo passed another milestone..... When I take Polo & Elsa out for a walk, I take a pocket full of tasty treats to get Elsa's attention when we see another dog as she will sometimes 'tell them off'(!) If I can divert her attention away from the dog as it passes, she gets her reward of the tasty treat, along with lots of praise. Of course, I don't like to leave Polo out so I offer him a treat, too. As he's always on his guard when we're out walking, he always refuses to take it  .......Until today, that is, when he took a treat from me! As I say, it's just a small thing but one that really brought a tear to my eye and put a smile on my face for the rest of the day! |
